Etsy offsite ads calculator — 12% / 15% fee impact
When Etsy runs your listing on Google, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram and a buyer purchases within 30 days, you pay an offsite ads fee on top of every standard Etsy fee. That single line can turn a profitable listing into a break-even flip.
Offsite ads rates (2026)
- Under $10K revenue (past 365 days) — 15% on attributed order total (item + shipping charged to buyer). You can opt out in Shop Manager.
- $10K+ revenue — 12% on attributed orders. Enrollment is mandatory; fee capped at $100 per order.
Offsite ads stack on transaction fee (~6.5%), payment processing (~3% + flat), and listing fee ($0.20). Combined, attributed sales often hit 22–25% in fees alone before COGS and shipping you pay.
Example: $40 listing + $5 buyer shipping
$12 COGS · $4 shipping you pay · no Etsy Ads
Organic sale: net ≈ $22.66 (~55% margin)
Same sale via offsite ad (15%): net ≈ $17.73 (~43% margin) — $4.92 less on an identical order.
Most experienced sellers price for the attributed scenario or model a blended mix of organic vs offsite sales — not 100% organic.
Minimum price formula
Min price ≈ (COGS + shipping you pay + desired profit + flat fees) ÷ (1 − variable fee rate)
Variable rate with 15% offsite ≈ 24.5% (6.5% + 3% + 15%). Cheap items hurt more — flat $0.45 processing + $0.20 listing is a larger share of a $15 sale.
Organic vs attributed blend
If 40% of orders come through offsite ads, your true margin sits between the organic and attributed numbers. Static calculators show binary on/off; ProfitLens models a blended % (Pro) so you price for real shop economics.
