Depop profit calculator — 0% seller fee + payment processing
Depop fashion resellers often assume zero commission means free selling. Real profit is what you keep after payment processing, optional Boosted Listings, shipping, and your sourcing cost.
Depop fee stack (US, 2026)
- Seller commission — 0% on current US listings (eliminated July 2024)
- Payment processing — 3.3% + $0.45 on item price + buyer-paid shipping + taxes (Depop Payments via Stripe)
- No listing fee — free to list; fees only on completed sales
- Boosted Listings — optional 12% on item price (+ shipping if not using Depop label) for new UK/US listings from Mar 23, 2026
- Your costs — COGS, outbound shipping if you cover it, returns buffer
UK sellers pay 2.9% + £0.30 processing with 0% seller fee. International sellers outside US/UK may still pay 10% seller commission.
Profit formula
Net profit = Sale + buyer-paid shipping − COGS − processing fee − boost fee (if used) − your shipping cost
Processing fee = (sale + buyer-paid shipping) × 3.3% + $0.45 — the fixed $0.45 hurts low-ticket thrift flips more than mid-ticket vintage.
Example: $50 vintage item
$50 sale · $5 buyer-paid shipping · $18 COGS · $0 seller ship · $2.27 processing (3.3% of $55 + $0.45) → net ≈ $34.73 (63% of item price)
Same item at $20 with $0 shipping: processing ≈ $1.11 — still beats Poshmark's $2.95 flat on sub-$15 items, but the $0.45 fixed is 2.25% of a $20 sale before COGS.
Common margin mistakes
- Ignoring the $0.45 fixed fee — sub-$25 items pay a higher effective % than $50+ vintage
- Boost without math — 12% boost on a thin-margin $30 item can erase Depop's zero-commission edge
- Cross-list price parity — Depop often beats Poshmark on $40–80 fashion but loses to Mercari on buyer-paid shipping fee base
- Buyer marketplace fee blind spot — US buyers may pay up to 5% + $1 at checkout; your list price still has to convert
When to upgrade from a calculator
At 500+ sales/month across Depop + Poshmark + Mercari, cross-listing tools (Vendoo, Nifty) sync fees automatically. Until then, fast what-if math prevents sourcing losers — and Margin Watchlist catches drift when you tweak prices or enable Boost.
