Mercari profit calculator — 10% selling fee

Mercari resellers often price from gross payout (sale minus COGS). Real profit is what you keep after Mercari's 10% selling fee, optional free shipping, Instant Pay, and your sourcing cost.

Mercari fee stack (US, 2026)

Cross-listers on Poshmark + eBay + Mercari should run each platform's fee stack — a winner on one app can lose on another.

Profit formula

Net profit = (Item price + buyer-paid shipping) × 0.90 − COGS − seller-paid shipping − Instant Pay (if used)

Fee base includes buyer-paid shipping — a $40 item with $6 buyer shipping means 10% on $46 ($4.60), not just $4.00.

Example: $45 resale item

$45 sale · $5 buyer-paid shipping · $15 COGS · $0 seller ship · $4.50 Mercari fee (10% of $50) → net ≈ $30.50 (61% of item price)

Same item with free shipping and a $7.99 label: fee drops to $4.50 on $45 only, but label cost leaves net ≈ $17.51 — free shipping on sub-$25 items often erases margin.
